The Bargate

£155.00

Named after a medieval stone gate built to protect the Norman castle of Richmond. Featuring several artisan cheeses made locally in Yorkshire, we believe this is a stunning cheese cake and a fabulous centrepiece.

The Bargate contains the following:

Bottom Tier: Baron Bigod 1kg
- Made by Jonny Crickmore at Fen Farm Dairy in Suffolk this is a Brie de Meaux style soft cheese with complex farmyard flavours.

Second Tier: Mrs Bell’s Blue 1.4kg
- A favourite of Rick Stein and Raymond Blanc with a complex flavour it’s similar to a Roquefort but milder and creamier.

Third Tier: Yoredale 1.1kg
- One of our best-selling cheeses, this is a raw milk Wensleydale cheese produced by Curlew Dairy in the village of Wensley. Tangy and buttery with minerality.

Fourth Tier: Chaource 250g
- A Lactic, bloomy-rinded soft cheese produced in the Champagne region of France. First created by the monks in the middle ages, with creme fraiche flavours when young, which develop more buttery and vegetal as it matures.

Top Tier: Dorstone 180g
